MassHealth members in Lynn and surrounding cities and towns have access to advocates that provide financial assistance, job searches and much more – in Spanish.

LYNN, MA – One of the main concerns for families who have MassHealth in Massachusetts is to be able to access the long-term services and supports they need to live a healthier and less stressful lifestyle.

From the larger challenges such as finding housing, a job, or transportation to the daily needs of household tasks like cooking, laundry, or grocery shopping, there are many in our community who need help.

This is why the North Region LTSS Partnership (NRLP) was created. They are a Community Partner in the MassHealth Community Partners Program dedicated to address the needs of eligible MassHealth members who live in the North Shore.

NRLP connects eligible MassHealth members to the services and supports they need.

“We assign a coordinator that will do what’s possible to provide them with the necessary resources to advocate and support them, specifically when there is a language or cultural barrier», explains Nicole Harnois, Program Manager.

The program has been a success in Lynn for its ability to create a link between MassHealth members and the available services and supports in their communities.

NRLP also serves other cities and towns such as Andover, Burlington, Lawrence, Methuen, Winchester, Billerica, Melrose, Winthrop, Revere, Medford, among others.

“Having a care coordinator has been really helpful. Through them I was able to access an Applied Behavior Analysis for my son,” says a NRLP member who lives in Peabody and is the mother of an 11-year-old boy with moderate autism.

For her, a care coordinator is a personal assistant for legal matters and someone who connects families with the social and health services available in their communities.

NRLP’s purpose is to serve the needs of eligible MassHealth members living with a broad range of challenges, including behavioral health.

According to Juan (pseudonym to protect patient privacy), a member of NRLP and Lynn resident, a care coordinator helps access services such as home cleaning, transportation assistance, and help navigating the MassHealth system.

“My care coordinator ensures my well-being, serving as a guide and providing me with support when I needed it most.”
