It’s been exactly three years ago this month that Eastern Bank announced plans to open Lawrence’s first new retail banking office in 23 years, as it expanded its presence throughout the Merrimack Valley.
Located at 486 Essex Street, the new branch became Eastern Bank’s 96th location and launched with four full-time employees in the new office, which open weekdays and on Saturdays. In addition, other employees from the bank’s commercial lending, wealth management and mortgage banking groups occasionally have work space inside the 2,800-square-foot office.
“Eastern Bank is proud to be the first bank since 1988 to open a new branch in Lawrence and we look forward to helping the city’s residents and businesses prosper,” said at the time Richard E. Holbrook, Eastern Bank’s chairman and CEO.
Opening soon! In October, Eastern Bank will open its second office in Lawrence, located at 420 Common Street on the campus of Northern Essex Community College.
