Community Servings is a non-profit food and nutrition program focused on the nutritional needs of underserved populations across the state. Over the past 32 years, we have delivered over 10 million free, scratch-made meals to individuals experiencing chronic and critical illnesses in the context of medical nutrition therapy.
As Facilities Manager you will oversee the proper repair, maintenance, and operation of a Kitchen and Office Building in Jamaica Plain, MA.

Primary Responsibilities:

Responsibilities:
- Oversees building, kitchen, HVAC and grounds maintenance.
- Manages the maintenance of all custodial functions through vendors.
- Monitoring the safety and cleanliness of interior and exterior areas, such as offices, conference rooms, parking lots and outdoor spaces.
- Ensures security and emergency preparedness procedures are implemented properly.
- Ensures that the facility is clean and maintained according to company policy and procedures.
- Manages and reviews service contracts.
- Conducts and documents regular facilities inspections.
- Checks completed work by vendors and contractors.
- Recommends maintenance, mechanical, electrical, and facility design modifications.
- Communicates workplace safety precautions to employees.
- Forecasts, allocates, and supervises the financial and physical resources of the facility management.
- Preparing the interior and exterior of the facilities for weather conditions
- Maintaining day-to-day operations of facilities, such as delegating or completing maintenance orders.
- Continually looking for areas of improvement
- Lead our Safety Committee and conduct Safety Trainings
Requirements:
- Familiarity with general repair skills
- Perform routine maintenance on equipment of familiarity
- Able to troubleshoot damaged and malfunctioning equipment
- Can work independently, time management skills
- Some Spanish ability is a plus but not required
- Strong project management skills
- Customer service orientation
- Communication skills, decision making, and problem solving
- IT skills (Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook)
- Leadership and professionalism
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- New hires must show proof of vaccinations
- Occasional evening and weekends
Education and Experience:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- 5-10 years in related position
- Some facilities management coursework is preferred

Physical Demands and Special Work Conditions
This position requires an individual to have the ability to lift to a maximum of 50 lbs. and includes bending and standing for long periods of time. The incumbent must maintain skills necessary to safely and efficiently operate the following equipment and machines used in the performance of this job: kitchen equipment (i.e., oven, kettle, stove, dishwasher, slicer, coffee machine, steamer, mixer, and chef’s knives) and the telephone.
