Mayor of Lawrence Seeks Input from Youth In Prioritizing $300,000 Budget

Mayor Daniel Rivera, with the Youth & Schools Working Group of Non-Profit Organizations, invites youth across the city, ages 13-22, to participate in a survey to help identify how a recently appropriated $300K investment in Youth Empowerment should be prioritized.

“The current climate as it relates to race issues, climate change and politics has created a platform for young voices and perspectives to be magnified and projected, showing the importance and validity of youth experience and ideas,” says Mayor Dan Rivera.

“The ways in which we invest this money should be impactful for Lawrence youth and the only way to ensure this is to listen to what they think is important; to let the youth guide the agenda. We want to ensure that we are creating space for youth perspective and ideas through a collaborative effort in designating the priorities of the investment.”

The survey is currently active and will be open until August 28th, 2020 at 5PM.
