Revere and Lynn Students Honored at Fenway Park

El Mundo Boston and the Boston Red Sox recognized academic excellence on Thursday, July 10th at Fenway Park, during a pre-game ceremony.

The academic all-stars represented the Susan B Anthony School, Romney Marsh Academy and Garfield Middle School in Revere and the Marshall and Breed schools in Lynn.

Handing out Certificates of Recognition were Red Sox players Aroldis Chapman, Jorge Alcala, David Hamilton and Sox manager Alex Cora.

Each student received four tickets to the game and later joined their families in the stands. For most families, it was their first Red Sox game ever.

The program is the only one of its kind in the nation and has been rewarding success in the classroom for 30 years.
