Ginger Betty’s specializes in delicious fresh baked goodness

December is probably the sweetest month of the year! Holiday treats are everywhere, and one of the most popular at this time of year is gingerbread!

At Ginger Betty’s in Quincy gingerbread is king, but that’s not all they make, and it’s not the only time of year they are busy! Beth Veneto, Ginger Betty’s owner, states, «So, we do Valentine’s. We do Thanksgiving. We do, you know, all the other holidays too, but this is the big prize!»

Starting in 1996, and at their current location since 2004, Ginger Betty’s has been turning out fresh baked goodness for young and old alike.

Due to the recent pandemic, more families started to purchase the many home decorating kits available at Ginger Betty’s.

Veneto explains, «We have the Santa face. We have the stockings. We have gingerbread boys and girls. We have the sleigh. We have the houses, and it’s great, but you know it’s really a family affair.» For those that prefer the professionals to do the decorating there are plenty of tasty options available!

This year the labor shortage has hit many food-related establishments, and Ginger Betty’s has not been immune.

«We are extremely busy this holiday season, busier than ever, which we are thankful for! However, we do face challenges with keeping up with demand due to staffing shortages. We are doing our very best to fill our store with as many goodies as possible each day.»

Throughout the year the GI Ginger Betty Foundation also delivers many Sweet Salute packages to servicemen around the world.

“We love our military and will continue to share cookies and make friends with them all around the world.”

Ginger Betty’s is open now through Christmas eve morning. They will then close for a much needed break until 2023 on January 4th!
