Estudiantes de Lawrence premiados entre aplausos

¡Viva Lawrence! The Boston Red Sox and El Mundo Boston honored Lawrence middle-school students  during a special pre-game ceremony with Red Sox outfielder Wilyer Abreu and Sox bench coach Ramón Vazquez. The students honored were selected by their schools for their academic achievements in the classroom. Also pictured are State Representative Carlos Gonzalez of Springfield and Mayor of Lawrence Brian DePeña (wearing hat).

Lawrence marcó otro hito histórico. Estudiantes de las escuelas públicas de la ciudad más inmigrante de Massachusetts recibieron de manos de jugadores de los Red Sox sendos reconocimientos por sus méritos académicos. El Fenway Park, el tradicional estadio de los Medias Rojas de Boston, estalló en aplausos cuando cada uno de los estudiates recibió el reconocimiento de El Mundo Boston y los Red Sox.

El alcalde de Lawrence, Brian DePeña, felicitó a cada uno de los estudiantes premiados, resaltando el trabajo y esfuerzo de una comunidad estudiantil que lucha por salir adelante. Luego se confundió en abrazos con varios padres de familia a quienes fellicitó por las notas sobresalientes de sus hijos.

Los estudiantes premiados en Fenway son un ejemplo de superación y sus padres se sienten orgullosos. ¡Felicidades!
